"I was sitting next to my fire, reading, and set the book down to get another beer," Edgerton said, "When I came back the whole d*** stack was on fire!"
Edgerton is suing for $5.38 for the price of his beer and one million dollars for emotional damage for himself and his dog, Booger.
The library reports the three books were Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret by Judy Blume, Bass Fishing Ain't Easy by local author and fishing aficionado Franklin "Mookie" Franks, and Underneath It All, the Traci Lords autobiography.
The director of the library, Evan Banned, could not be reached for comment.
