When Barbara Eaton, 34, checked out books from the Banned Library yesterday, she was surprised to learn the popular book series
Chicken Soup for the Soul
did not contain recipes. The series is a collection of inspirational tales meant to sooth the soul, not the stomach.
"These librarians need to label their books better. There ain't no reason for a book to have food on the title when there ain't no food in it," Eaton said.
Librarians who were at the scene say that the books are located in the self-help section, far from the cooking section. As far as Eaton's comments, library employees claim they do not have any say in what publishers put on the book jackets but have claimed they will attempt to make proper signage so this type of mistake does not happen in the future.
Eaton says this has not deterred her from using the library, showing the science fiction book she chose for her son's book report:
Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus
