Dozens of Easter Eggs were uncovered in the Banned Library after a week of sitting exposed to the elements. The eggs,
, began to rot and stink up the library.
“We first noticed the smell after the heat wave on Wednesday,” Evan Banned, director of the library, said, “we expected to find a few, sure, but the sheer number left uncovered was staggering.”
Estimates as of Monday afternoon put the number of eggs into the hundreds. Professionals have been hired to assist in the cleaning of the library as well as various persons from within the community.
Robert Kline, 34, of Bannville Fumigation and Bakery had this to say:
“This is just a mess. Those eggs are just a ripe, stinking mess. Pretty well hidden, too. Course, we are having fun finding them. I made a pretty basket to look for mine. Used real grass and some streamers from my bike.”
Kline and his employees have found other items while de-egging the library. These items include two dead raccoons clutching each other in a final embrace, undecorated snake eggs, and one carton of blue cheese. Several children helping with the hunt found a viking pirate treasure map with odd key.
