Sorry I haven't written in a while. I put down everything I could in the Cold New Year story. I hope you aren't too offended by some of it, but that's what happened. And I know, I took long enough to tell it, but that’s what the Internet’s for, right? Putting everything out there and hoping?
Eh, maybe. Maybe I’ll look back and see that telling you all this was a mistake. I mean, it is just a form of masturbation. Sorry, bad image. You probably cringed a little, but there you go.
Anyway, this is more of a way to let my feelings out, to tell you what’s going on in my life and to stay interested in it. Ha. I typed that before I knew what I was going to say. Stay interested in my own life... Yeah, that’s the best way to put it. Not that I have ever planned anything different. Nope, I am here to stay. You will have to drag me kicking and screaming out of this life because I have made no plans for anything after it. If there is anything. All that’s another letter entirely, I think.
Wow, this has gone a long time and I haven’t even told you what’s been going on around the library since that Cold New Year. Sorry, but I just like saying that title.
So what’s new at the Banned Library? Well, as you can see we not only had some construction to fix the floor after the small “gas incident” at New Year’s, but we have restructured the website as well. We hope you like it, it took us very little time to get it together and hope that it all works okay (beside that certificate thing, if you got that, I’m sorry.)
Just like Caleb offered, I am now the night librarian, serving the public from five post meridiem to three ante meridiem. Or 1700 to 0300 for you military brats out there. The public is still the same whatever time of day it is, but I must say I enjoy the night life so much more.
And yes, working at night keeps me out of trouble. I do not drink as much and because I am the only one on staff I cannot take a smoke break. Not that either of those matter because, ta-da, I am one month and three days off of cigarettes and teh boozes. I have had a beer or wine or two with meals, but that is all. And I’m not drinking alone anymore. No, no.
On top of that, to fill my now vacant mornings I have been reading more and for the first time ever, jogging. I’m three weeks into this “exercise” thing and honestly I do feel better. I also started a low carb/high protein diet and am eagerly awaiting my first Saturday cheat day tomorrow. I have plans for you, french bakery.
The library, for the most part, runs the same. Caleb, Natalie and Cassidy have the daytime locked down and ship shape. I come in once a week or so to find a new display or something constructed during the daylight hours that I had not seen before. LIke a surprise that I was waiting to see.
I also know that a few of you were concerned about the tornado that came ripping through this area about two weeks ago. While the town and the local college did suffer, no one is dead and the library is just fine.
I don’t even know what to say about the former board of directors. I don’t want to. You know the story. They are gone. Let them stay gone.
Okay, I have rambled on long enough. I wish you all well and I hope to update this on the regular Mondays and Fridays. I think I may have pushed myself with the story, so I’m going to take it easy getting these little updates out there. I might also throw up a story now and then just to keep you on your toes.
