So, I dunno what the hell’s going on. Daredevil’s all tied up in a computer like that lady in Superman 3 and there’s a bunch of hologram guys around or something. Then there’s a flashback or something with the Fantastic Four and a guy with a radar dish on his hand who might be the guy talking.. Then some stuff happens...
Then Daredevil’s like “to hell with this,” and breaks out and runs away. Then he’s out in traffic and fighting and getting missed... Then he rips the bad guy apart and the crosswalk sign comes on.
Cut to Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson talking to some guy, then the guy is in court, then they are happy and go get drunk in a bar.
What’s on the cover?
Daredevil seems to be in a shell of some dude with a radar dish for a hand.
How’s the pictures?
The art is a throwback to an older style of comics with heavy lines and minimal color. It is very expressive and subtle.
What really happened?
A copy of Klaw, the Master of Sound, has kidnapped Daredevil and plans on using his meatsuit to reconstitute the real deal. That’s about it. There’s also a subplot about Matt and Foggy teaching the guy they’ve been representing to represent himself and they find their new direction as lawyers in that.
Did I like it?
This is a solid book. The story has been told before, but it is done really well here. The visuals of putting Daredevil against the Master of Sound are striking and well drawn. I especially like the contoured texture the artists give Daredevil’s “radar.”
