While on the prowl for a new director, the Lyon County Library Board just finds itself going through the motions. The library plans to use the very same tactics to find a new library director that it used the last time around.
"I dunno," the interim library director said, "It's just... It's hard out there for a library, you know? And we're not getting any younger and our children's department is growing... It's not too late for us to have another children's department, right? I mean, we could, like... Do programs for adopted kids? I dunno, shit, man."
When asked what those tactics, the same ones used to find the previous director were, the staff shrugged their shoulders.
"The building's getting older," a librarian was heard to say, "and when we set up at the local fairs... You can tell we are trying too hard."
Volunteers were seen giving tours of the library recently to entice both new visitors and potential directors.
The reference librarian seems to think online is the way to go, "If we just get a good online profile, some pictures of programs we do, our likes and dislikes as a community, I know we can get out there and bag a library director that will love to write grants for us forever."
The search will continue until a suitable replacement is found.
