In a surprise move, Macmillan confirmed that it will be relinquishing all 11,000 titles in its back list to librarians. This is a hard won victory for the library community, who have been waging a bitter war for access to all ebooks for years.
"[Expletive] yeah," a librarian was heard to shout, "I'm gonna finally start those damn Stephanie Plum books."
Other librarians were not so sure. Dave Davidson from Freeburg only sat in the corner, crying, "I just want this to all end... I want this damn ebook war over. I want to see my family, my kids. The little one, she's walking, they say in the emails. We don't have the broadband out here for video, but that's okay. Because we got this battle done. But I want to go home. This just seems pointless now."
Despite the differing opinions in the ebook war, most believe it is a just cause and a cause worth fighting. Some, some just like fighting.
"I'm just gonna keep going till we have access to all those godd--n ebooks," a children's librarian said as she loaded her sniper rifle, "Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go find Waldo."
