The Friends of the Library for the Poudre River Public Library District once ran a fundraiser from a kiosk in the local mall, but no more. Due to renovations, the sale has had to move operations to a more expensive, less trafficked area. The sale, along with several others just like it, is a major source of income for the library district fundraiser project and the members fear they will feel the move economically.
Book sales are strange animals, are they not? Often labeled "treasure hunts," the vast majority are flea market-esque affairs dominated by spiders and the spider's natural habitat, National Geographic Magazines, situated in the corner of the library labeled the "Too Dark."
A professionally run, book sale... well that's just a book store, right? So why not partner with one of them if that's what you want? Find a locally owned bookstore and say, "Hey, we'll drive people to go check out your shop if you house this pile of scum and villainy that our staff is too busy to look through so we are just going to sell." Win win.
