Conservative white people across Arizona are scared shitless this week when the Tuscon school board announced it will rescind a school wide ban on seven books used to teach the Mexican American Studies program.
According to one article, the books were outlawed as part of a 2010 law that "bans classes that promote the overthrow of the government, breed ethnic resentment, or advocate ethnic solidarity instead of treating students as individuals."
Are Mexico and Arizona really a threat to the stability of the United States? I mean, I know the fed has issues keeping their bills paid, but we still have an army that can repel people, right? This is not Russia, people can have an opinion and a right to read about their own communities. Is Pennsylvania banning the teaching of Dutch heritage? Shouldn't we be breaking up some Amish motherfuckers, lest they get it in their minds to attack the electronically-abled? But more about Arizona.
Yes, white people of Arizona, look out. When the Latino population learn that they had it different than the folks with the lighter skin and their weird, Germanic tongue, shit will get real. The streets will run red with the juice of chili's as traditional Mexican dishes are served throughout the state. Daughters will be romanced out of their windows by mariachi's in the still of the night.
How scary books and learning is that it can teach people about their past and bring them together as communities! How left out the white people must feel. We must pity them.
Poor, poor rich, non-ethnic white people.
