To celebrate 20 whole years of operation, the West Chicago Public Library District is collecting stories in an oral history project of the library and the building. In preparation for the anniversary, library staff planned a display of the library's history but expanded with the oral histories of patrons and staff stories about the building.
I don't want to get off topic, but I am because that's the meat and potatoes of this story. I just can't believe a 20th anniversary is something to celebrate, then I remember, duh, America. We don't have old stuff, or keep it around much. Mostly, I feel old because I remember 20 years ago and this scares me to my core. Also, I may be feeling a little bloated and don't feel pretty, but that's just because I'm not.
