Comixology, the online digital comic retailer, has added the "Classics Illustrated" series of books to its store. The comics, illustrated editions of classic literature were a hit from the 1940s to the 1970s with an impressive 120 issue run. The run will be available displaying titles such as H. G. Wells's "War of the Worlds" and Jane Austen's "Pride and Predjudice."
Get ready to bore the crap outta your children! Or to find you forehead red with slaps as a teenager proclaims that "nobody understands illustrated Mr. Darcy like her." Of course, I could be wrong. Teenagers could see these classic illustrated works as they are, gateways into a deeper understanding and empathetic vision of what the world could and should be. Or they will say, "man, people looked weird in the day, why isn't this 3D?" and then die horrible, horrible deaths because teenagers are assholes.
