The East Chicago Public Library and St. Catherine Hospital have joined forces to help improve the quality of their patrons lives. Last month, the hospital gave talks on breast cancer awareness at the library's main branch and in November will coordinate to provide information for National Diabetes Awareness Month. Handouts will be handed out and talks will be talked to give patrons more information so they can make healthy choices.
I can see it now... People walk in, look around for the coffee and cookie plates that accompany most library programs only to find water and those stunted carrots. "What is this weak bullshit?" a 90 year old octogenarian will yell, tipping the table over before spitting on the ground and telling the head librarian, "Thinner."
But I kid. That mostly will never happen again. What I hope happens is what the library hopes, healthy people all around. And an end to evil gypsy magicks.
