A twenty year old man was arrested for allegedly assaulting two library workers and a patron at the Antioch Library in California. No motive was found, but he man did allegedly take money from one of the worker's wallets. An arrest was made without incident by police.
We hope everyone involved is okay, but I just really want to talk about reporting of library crimes. First, I have to say "library workers" because the generic "librarian" does not always apply and nobody knows the education or job level of those involved, just the crime. So tiptoe around that one, especially since all the librarians I know would put a sensible shoe up your ass if you go for their wallet. Ninja librarians, mo-fo. Second, I kinda get a kick out of picking where to put "allegedly." Until conviction, dude is innocent until proven guilty and I find it funny to say "Ten people saw him allegedly shoot a man in the face" in a news story. Just tickles me. Thanks for the indulgence.
