Okay, maybe you won't get murdered by a ghost in the famous Winchester house, but you can now hang your hat there and have a cocktail. The house, built with money from the Winchester rifle fortune by Sarah Winchester, has now been granted a permit to charge for overnight stays and booze.
Here's a few things I remember about the house (instead of wiki-ing it cause eh):
- The house was under constant construction because Mrs. Winchester believed the ghosts that her husband's guns killed were gonna come back and murder her.
- There are staircases that lead nowhere and doorways that open to empty space like a cartoon where everything is terrifying.
- Many of the fixtures, windows, and doorways include references to spiders and the number 13 because if you are gonna be a bear of a crazy house, be a grizzly of a crazy house and this one is a Kodiak on methamphetamine.
Would you stay at the murder mansion that has spawned a thousand ghost stories? What kind of drink would you have there? I would because duh and whiskey on the rocks because that's what I drink.
