Art of Asking by Amanda Fucking Palmer (2014) taught me to just give up sometimes and do whatever

The image of standing in a square, a tall bride all in white, money piling up around her feet. The image of a woman at a piano, half naked, fans voices and her voice mixing in a chaotic chorus. The image of someone driving at night, listening to the story of an artist, throwing a newspaper at a deer because fuck that deer. Life is weird.

Amanda Fucking Palmer. Artist. Singer. Song writer. Bride. Wife. Evelyn. Just google her. Then read her book. How's that for a summary?

Most advice books are full of the same old platitudes. That's because they are universally acknowledged as being nuggets of wisdom, truth bits right up there with a person with a fortune being in want of a wife. Sorry, I used that "universally acknowledged" bit on accident, and my English degree requires I mention Jane Austen. So find your truth. Ask for help. Go for the joy, not the money. You are the only one who can tell your story. Get paid.

That's my whole review. It's been a hell of a day.

    Fucking deer.
