December 02, 2020 by Banned Library in Picture Book

Banned

#5 of ALA's "Top 10 Most Challenged Books of 2019" for "featuring a gay marriage and LGBTQIA+ content; for being 'a deliberate attempt to indoctrinate young children' with the potential to cause confusion, curiosity, and gender dysphoria; and for conflicting with a religious viewpoint."

2019

West Virginia - Pulled from Upshur County's library shelves after a local minister Pastor Josh Layfield called it "a deliberate attempt to indoctrinate young children, especially boys, into the LGBTQA lifestyle." The book was later returned to the shelves after review.

Virginia - Various LGBTQA works as part of a diversity curriculum for elementary and high school students in Loudoun County were challenged by parents and citizens.
