I am writing this to clear up any misconceptions that may have arisen during this week's "Revolution" type programming at the library. The library is not calling for the harm of any person or persons, nor do we condone the destruction of public or private property. Our staff and Prof. Steve Hystarion of Banned Community College wish the public to know both the history of civil disobedience and the types of activities that have resulted because of stagnant economies and upper class greed at the expense of those who work for them.
What happened at Tuesday's "Governmental Health Lies of Yore" presentation by Prof. Hystarion is a great example. Many of our patrons came to the program because in the announcement was listed "vaccines" as a topic. Some arrived expecting a debate as to governmental lies about vaccines from both sides of the argument. They came for a fight.
And they got one.
Please remember if you come to the library for any reason with anger in your heart you will find anger directed right back at you. For decades, our librarians have helped the community make informed decisions with up-to-date knowledge from reputable sources. This is no "Human AI" bullshit. We do real work and will not tolerate strawman arguments or half-assed research in this building. We do not argue. We have sources, and we are not afraid to use them.
As many of you learned Tuesday evening, we also have a large array of non-lethal weaponry dating from colonial times to current suppressive measures. This year will be different. We the library are not tolerating any more horseshit about how you "did your own research." We invented doing your own research. Then you assholes went and made a whole computer network of bullshit and decided that was the way. Well, not in this house.
As we write this, we are gearing up for Prof. Hystarion's second talk this week, "Notable US Monuments Demolished in the Last 250 Years." By the time you read this, that will have happened. It will have happened without a recorded incident because no matter what is written, we are the archive.
The library smells of gasoline and Tech Serve is emptying whiskey bottles before they stagger home for the day.
