Dolly and Tim

Hell of a thing when people that mean so much are gone just days from one another.

Dolly Parton and Tim Curry just existed for me. I have no specific memory of either coming into my life. And now they are no more.

My mom sang Dolly while cooking. I remember watching "9 to 5" on HBO and hearing her songs everywhere. She was the cool aunt everyone in the South had. Later as a librarian learning of her philanthropy and the Imagination Library, my respect for her grew and grew. She was truly the best among us humans.

Tim Curry was that weird guy I was always happy to see. From The Worst Witch to Clue to Congo, I loved watching him play. Cause that's what it felt like he was doing. Having fun, eating the scenery, and just being himself. He always matched or over-matched the quality of film he was in and was so much fun to watch. Muppet Treasure Island will always be a favorite, but I'm sharing Rocky below because you have to share Rocky.
