Top Books I Read 2025
According to my Goodreads, I read 42 books in 2025. According to my notebook, I read 51. I've never been good at using Goodreads and it's kinda a garbage site anyway. So, I read paper books, kindle books, audio books from the library on Libby, and probably a shampoo bottle or two while in the shower. Here's the ones the love in my life said I would not shut up about.
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
There's something simple about this epic story of two people trying to make their lives work while they succeed at making video games. I listened to this story, rewound parts to hear them again, and had my heart broken over and over. A lovely story that I did not want to end.
Jim Henson by Brian Jay Jones
Dear god, did people want me to stop talking about things I learned reading this. How one man could cause so much good in the world is staggering, all while being a kinda shitty husband and generally avoiding conflict at every turn. I love the Muppets, and learning all the backstory behind the man who just could not help but make great stuff is amazing. Made me sad I never found that thing that never felt like work.
Bury Your Gays by Chuck Tingle
The author of the "Pounded in the Butt" series can really write, it turns out. A clever and solid scifi horror tale that critics not only Hollywood's treatment of the gay community but the writers and studio system in general. So much depth and horror that made me think and read a few of his other books, but none quite hit like this did.
